About Dr. Douglas Canlas  

Douglas O. Canlas is a licensed physician with years of clinical experience and a strong working knowledge of VA disability claim requirements. As a certified Compensation & Pension medical examiner for the Veteran Benefits Administration, he has extensive experience reviewing complex medical records and preparing detailed medical opinions that align with VA evidentiary standards.

Dr. Canlas is known for his meticulous, evidence-based approach and his commitment to providing veterans with ethical, professional medical documentation to support their claims.

As a son of a Navy Veteran who served in the Vietnam War, Dr. Canlas grew up on military bases, (having to move 17 times and went to 5 different high schools).  He comes from a long line of Veterans. His grandfather was a captain in the Army and served in WWII, directly under General Douglas McArthur, and in the Korean War.  He has multiple uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces who are veterans or are still currently serving.
